About
Martin Abdo is 51 years old, married to Kelli Abdo and has a teenage son. Martin was born at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue and raised in Issaquah, Washington. Martin is the youngest of seven children.
In 2000, he was first introduced to the beautiful essence of Reiki by his long time dear friend Jillian McGuinness. At the time Martin was studying to become a massage therapist at the school of Brian Utting in Seattle, Washington. After experiencing Reiki and learning the basic fundamentals of it's purpose and uses, he felt a strong draw to shift his focus from massage to primarily offering Reiki in the years to come. On March 2nd, 2007, Martin lost his brother Joel to suicide. He had a falling out with his brother the previous year, which resulted in them not speaking. After hearing of his brother's death, Martin personally felt tremendous guilt and hatred for himself, due to his previous behavior-speaking harsh words out of hurt and anger towards his brother in an email. In Martin's opinion, this tremendous stress, guilt, and shame lead to chronic physical and mental anguish for years to come. After his brother's death, Martin's healing journey began when he chose to volunteer and sit with those dying at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, Washington. Then Martin met Reiki Master Melinda Kaur at a monthly Reiki Circle that was taking place at the hospice. She soon became his mentor. Martin received more Reiki training through Melinda in the years to come. On 10/24/2010, Martin received his certificate of Master Level and was attuned to the Usui System of Natural Healing in accordance with the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition. In Martin's free time, he volunteers and offers Reiki to patients via NODA (Nobody Dies Alone) at Harborview and for abused and neglected horses that have been rescued by a nonprofit organization called SAFE. Offering Reiki is Martin's passion! He loves to give and receive it. Reiki is one of the modalities that has transformed Martin's life in the following ways: Providing profound insights, facilitating the natural healing process of mind, body, and spirit, pain relief, and deep relaxation. Martin's hope is to be granted the opportunity to offer Reiki to you and your loved ones, whether they are human or your beloved animals that make up your loving family. |
